About the Foundation
The Delta Omicron Foundation, Inc. was founded in 1958 and chartered in the State of Ohio as a non-profit corporation. The Foundation, Inc. is supported by tax-deductible donations and gifts of Delta Omicron members and friends. It finances scholarships, grants-in-aid and awards.
Activities and Projects
The Delta Omicron Foundation, Inc. promotes the cause of music through:
- Scholarships, grants and awards for graduate or undergraduate music study in the United States
- Awarding the Thor Johnson Memorial Commission
- Maintenance of Delta Omicron Studio and Petzold-Collyer Piano, at MacDowell in Peterborough, N.H.
- Roy Underwood Educational Grants in Music Therapy
- Contributing to the Delta Omicron Composition Competition, open to composers the world over
- Seat Endowments at Metropolitan Opera House and Lincoln Center in New York
- Supporting American music and American composers through premiere performances
- Past contributions to Building Funds at the National Federation of Music Clubs, Indianapolis, Indiana; the Brevard Music Center, Brevard, North Carolina; and the National Music Camp, Interlochen, Michigan.
